Connect Google Postmaster Tools

Google Postmaster Tools reports how Gmail sees your domain, most importantly the spam rate reported by Gmail users. EmailShift reads it daily and uses it in alerts and in the sender requirements check.

Before you start

Your domain must be verified in Google Postmaster Tools (postmaster.google.com) with the Google account you will connect. EmailShift only reads data for domains verified there that are also verified in EmailShift.

Steps

  1. In EmailShift, go to Connections → New connection → Google Postmaster Tools.
  2. Sign in with Google and allow read-only access to Postmaster Tools.

Good to know

  • Postmaster data is daily and arrives with a delay of a day or two. It drives trends and daily alerts, not real-time detection.
  • Google only shows data once a domain sends enough mail to Gmail users. Small senders may see "no data", which is normal.
  • A spam rate above 0.3% breaks Gmail's sender requirements; EmailShift warns from 0.1%.
