Dedicated IPs and blocklists
EmailShift checks your domains against domain blocklists, and your dedicated IPs against IP blocklists.
Why only dedicated IPs
If you send through shared IPs of a platform (as most senders do), a listing of one of those IPs is caused by other senders and is not something you can act on. EmailShift therefore only checks IPs that send your mail alone.
Adding a dedicated IP
- Go to Domains → Dedicated sending IPs and add the IP.
- EmailShift checks that the IP is yours: it must pass DMARC for your domain in your DMARC reports, or its reverse DNS must be under one of your verified domains. Unverified IPs are not checked.
How checks work
- Each list is checked at most every few hours per IP or domain.
- A list that stops answering correctly is paused automatically, and its results are shown as "not checked" rather than "clean".
- A listing on a list that matters opens a case with a link to the list's lookup page. Informational lists are shown but never open cases.
